Welcome to YachtScribble.

YachtScribble stopped inviting new scribblers at the end of 2008 because jelly and James achieved their dream and bought Milestone, a Colvic Victor 34, which they now liveaboard in Portsmouth Harbour.

This site now serves as a bit of history and a testemonial to jelly's entrepreneurial endeavours. It will continue to display everyone's scribbles online whilst jelly & James work out how best to put them on their yacht.

YachtScribble was launched by jelly and James in November 2008 to give people a novel use for their fivers and help them achieve their dream of living as a couple onboard a small yacht. For five pounds, scribblers were able to...

  • Scribble on an expensive yacht

  • Help a young couple achieve their dream and set up home together, whilst avoiding debt and showing entrepreneurial spirit

Terms & Conditions as of Nov 2008 when YachtScribble was active and these T&Cs applied

Payment and submission of a scribble deems acceptance of the world's most simple following terms and conditions:

  1. We do not currently own a yacht. There is no guarantee we will buy a yacht (but as explained that's the whole point of this venture, and trust me, it is our sole aim to buy a yacht!)
  2. Your scribbling is not guaranteed to appear on a yacht, but is guaranteed to appear on this website.
  3. You allow your scribbling to be in the public domain in the forms of but not solely inclusive of:
    1. Posted on this website
    2. Appearing in press articles (TV, print, online, radio etc.)
    3. In publicly distributed photographs of the scribblings on the yacht
  4. There is absolutely no guaranteed media interest (but we'll try our very hardest and have a proven track record).
  5. We determine where on the boat's hull you are allowed to scribble. You are not allowed to scribble anywhere else on the boat.
  6. Your scribble is not guaranteed to stay on the hull for any length of time but under normal circumstances it shall be written in permanent pen and designed to stay on indefinitely.
  7. Scribbles can be a maximum of 60 ASCII characters including spaces. No images.
  8. Scribbles can only contain one URL - if you wish to link to more than one website you need to purchase multiple scribbles.

Comments? Questions? Constructive criticism? Message of encouragement? Member of the press?

Great! We love to hear from you all.
