YachtScribble stopped inviting new scribblers at the end of 2008 because jelly and James achieved their dream and bought Milestone, a Colvic Victor 34, which they now liveaboard in Portsmouth Harbour.

This site now serves as a bit of history and a testemonial to jelly's entrepreneurial endeavours. It will continue to display everyone's scribbles online whilst jelly & James work out how best to put them on their yacht.

YachtScribble was launched by jelly and James in November 2008 to give people a novel use for their fivers and help them achieve their dream of living as a couple onboard a small yacht. For five pounds, scribblers were able to...

YachtScribble gave people the chance to help a young couple set up home together and avoid being sucked into the debt of evil banks whilst experiencing a novel use for a fiver - potentially scribbling on our future yacht!

We came up with this whole "scribble on our boat for a fiver" not only to help us, but to give every scribbler a novel use for their fiver, a laugh - and for businesses, publicity.

We offered a lot of publicity. Look at www.jellyellie.com - that’s me - and you’ll see a CV of a young girl who had a book published which she wrote at 15, became a qualified yacht skipper at age 17, gives talks on tech for teenagers to corporations around Europe, and is on the board for Young Chamber UK.

I’m in the final stages of qualifying as an RYA Yachtmaster - I did my original sailing as a volunteer with The Cirdan Sailing Trust which helps disadvanted teenagers. I loved it and went on from there. My partner James is senior dockmaster at a marina; he is an absolute natural sailor out of sheer experience, the calmest seafarer in turbulent waters you will ever meet.  We’re an ideal top sailing couple. And, we hope, just an ideal couple. So, yes, one day not too long now, your message – your spirit – will sail the oceans wide with James and jelly. And we’ll be thinking of each and every one of you all the time.

At the time of YachtScribble, we didn't have a yacht for people to scribble on. But we achieved our dream a lot earlier than we thought we would, as the first boat we fell in love with - and could afford without any help from YachtScribble income - miraculously came back on the market again, after we thought we'd lost her to a higher bidder. He pulled out, and Milestone is now our home in Portsmouth Harbour.

jellyellie: Hi, I'm jelly. I'm an 18-year-old entrepreneur, published author, speaker and sailor.

James: And hello, I'm James, a 21-year-old sailor. I work as Senior Dockmaster at a marina in Portsmouth, UK, which is where I met jelly when the boat she was sailing on caught fire. She's now my hot girlfriend.

James: Indeed there is. For starters, jelly's rather smart.

James: Come on, you know you love the attention. From a young age jelly's been involved in a range of unconventional entrepreneurial projects. When jelly was 13 she created the hit website bluejackQ.com, the world’s first and most cited website about bluejacking – the art of sending anonymous messages via Bluetooth mobile phones. bluejackQ, now with over 6.6 million page views, took the media by storm and jelly ended up being interviewed for national and international print, TV, newspapers, magazines, websites, books and academic papers. At its peaked the website received over 120,000 page views PER DAY! That's simply crazy!

jellyellie: ...blah blah blah! Yeah. It was awesome. Then at 15 I signed my first publishing deal for my book How Teenagers Think, an insider’s guide for parents about bringing up teenagers. Again How Teenagers Think has received a lot of media attention from national and international, TV, radio, magazines and newspapers, and the book was serialised in the Mail on Sunday’s YOU magazine. It's since been translated into Italian and Polish - random or what?!

James: Very random, but extremely cool. jelly's book also opened lots of doors for her, including the opportunity to be represented by speaking agent Sylvia Tidy-Harris. She's since flown all round the UK - and the world - speaking to both adults and young people. I sometimes get the chance to go with her, which is awesome.

jellyellie: Except when you squirted a tomato all over my white shorts 10 minutes before I was due to go on stage and speak!

James: Yeah... well... y'know... a boy's gotta eat. So anyway, that's us.

jellyellie: Yeah. And buy the way, we bought a yacht.

James: *tries to stifle a grin*

jellyellie: ...that we now liveaboard in Portsmouth Harbour...
